Backpacking Yellowstone’s Northern Range
When: June 14-18
Yellowstone’s Northern Range is alive with the abundance of wildlife. Animals have become active in the spring, wildflower begin to bloom, and creeks are filling with snowmelt. Baby animals—from bison and elk calves to bear cubs and baby birds—are starting to leave behind the the pullouts and boardwalks and venture into the backcountry of the Northern Range, an area teeming with new life. You’ll begin your first evening at the historic Lamar Buffalo Ranch with an evening session that will cover safety and preparation. The next days will be spent hiking and camping in the backcountry of Yellowstone’s Northern Range.

Backpacking and Fishing Yellowstone’s Interior
When: July 2-5
Enjoy spending time in Yellowstone’s spectacular backcountry hiking and fishing. You will spend the first evening at the historic Lamar Buffalo Ranch with an evening program focused on backcountry safety and preparation. Spend the rest of the class immersed in the heart of the Yellowstone interior. Days will be spent hiking to camp, side hikes, and fishing some of Yellowstone’s pristine backcountry waters.

Backpacking Yellowstone’s Thermals
When: Aug. 8-12
Yellowstone is a spectacular place to observe the beauty of water in all its natural forms. This adventure beckons hikers new to backpacking or those more experienced to experience some of Yellowstone’s backcountry thermal areas. Visit dynamic hydrothermal features, all while learning how to backpack comfortably and safely in bear country. Your adventure begins with an evening classroom session at the historic Lamar Buffalo Ranch before spending the rest of the class in Yellowstone’s premier backcountry.
