New Winter Wildlife Programs

Though Yellowstone National Park is spectacular in every season, the park in winter is truly a magical place. Yellowstone Forever is excited to announce our popular Winter Wolf Discovery programs are now open for registration.

Led by first-rate Yellowstone Forever Field Educators, participants will have the opportunity to explore the world of wolves and other charismatic wildlife along Yellowstone’s grand Northern Range. Field Educators will also share up-to-date information about Yellowstone wolf biology, behavior, ecology, and cultural history.

Come spend four nights with us in one-of-a-kind locations for an unforgettable winter experience in Yellowstone National Park. New this year: Winter Wolf Discovery programs will be offered at the historic Lamar Buffalo Ranch or the Yellowstone Overlook Field Campus in Gardiner, Montana.

On the Winter Wolf Discovery at the Lamar Buffalo Ranch, days will be spent in the field, followed by relaxing evenings at the famed Lamar Buffalo Ranch, where participants will be provided delicious dinners and lively discussions before turning in to their cozy cabins.

On the Winter Wolf Discovery at the Yellowstone Overlook Field Campus in Gardiner, days will be spent in the field, followed by relaxing evenings at the Overlook Field Campus. Nightly, guests can hop on the shuttle into Gardiner, MT to eat at a local restaurant of their choosing.

*Due to issues related to this summer’s flooding event, program lodging will no longer place at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel for the 2022-23 winter season.

Yellowstone Forever offers a variety of other opportunities to experience Yellowstone in all its winter splendor.
