Events and Activities

Not only are there endless things to see in Yellowstone, there are also fun events and activities for all ages and interests. If you’re headed our way this fall or winter, be on the lookout for these happenings throughout the park and vicinity!

Park Stores

Our educational Park Stores are the number one source of information on all things Yellowstone. Staff are ready to help you plan your trip, provide information about Institute programs, and explain the different ways you can support important park projects.

While most of our 11 store locations are open during the summer season only, our stores in Mammoth Hot Springs, Gardiner, and Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport are open year-round. You can also shop at our online Park Store!

Yellowstone Plein Air Invitational

The first annual Yellowstone Plein Air Invitational took place September 26-30, 2018 and celebrated the current and historical presence of art in Yellowstone. Fourteen of the nation’s best artists painted “en plein air” (outside on-site) for four days in various locations throughout Yellowstone National Park. Many thanks to the artists, visitors, and sponsors who helped make the event a great success!

Check out 2018 event photos, award winners, and more here.

Save the Date! The second annual Yellowstone Plein Air Invitational will be held September 24-29, 2019. More information coming soon!
