That’s a wrap! The Yellowstone Art & Photography Center, located in the Old Faithful area between the Visitor Education Center and Old Faithful Lodge, finished up its second full season this September. Nearly 100,000 visitors of all ages came through the doors this year to participate in daily hands-on activities, peruse a collection of historic and contemporary art with Yellowstone as the subject, visit and learn from our seven artists-in-residence, or simply to purchase art and photography supplies.
Here is just some of the feedback we received from participants in our painting activities:
“Totally awesome! One of the best ideas in years! What a great way to introduce the general public to art and history.” Jenny Hinberg, Washington.
“This is a wonderful program! Please, keep it up. It is a great way to experience Yellowstone and walk away with a souvenir.” Karla Jesse, Idaho
“Great program! So glad we happened upon it. Kids and adults enjoyed. Wish we could do it every day.” Melody Ng, Minnesota
If you are visiting the park next year, stop by for a truly unique Yellowstone experience that you won’t forget or regret. Take a look at these 2018 season photos for an idea of the kinds of activities and family-friendly fun to be had at the center. The YA&PC opens back up the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, May 24. Hope to see you there in 2019!

A free-form art activity for kids of all ages to come up with their own Yellowstone-inspired creations.

Located between the Visitor Education Center and Old Faithful Lodge, you can literally watch an Old Faithful eruption from the center’s front porch.

The YA&PC was originally a classic Haynes Photo Shop. Items on display are old Haynes park guides, postcards, books, historic cameras, and more.

This classic Kodak camera, among others, are on full display at the center.

A quick-study art activity of Old Faithful. Visitors of all ages participated in this 20-minute activity and were able to take home their very own masterpieces.

Group of visitors proud of their newly finished Old Faithful-inspired artwork.

If you just need to take a break and catch some shade, the YA&PC front porch is the perfect place to unwind.

Though we were able to create classic hard-surfaced buttons in the center, paper versions proved just as fun. Thus, by popular demand, we created printout paper versions of the buttons for you and your family to be able to create on your own at home!

Artist-in-Residence, Linda Aman

Thank you for another phenomenal, fun-filled season at the Yellowstone Art & Photography Center. See you in 2019!
