Yellowstone’s team at the Heritage and Research Yellowstone’s team at the Heritage and Research Center (HRC) has put together a fantastic online exhibit, Yellowstone National Park: Travel through Time. The exhibit explores travel through Yellowstone National Park from the earliest Native American groups and European American trappers and surveyors to present-day visitors. It examines how the area has been managed over time, how visitors tour the park on land, water, and snow, and how the National Park Service uses technology to steward the land and protect its visitors.

There is an incredible array of information and stories, historic images, images of artifacts, maps, vehicles, postcards, teacher lesson plans, and beyond with links to even more.

It is absolutely well worth your time to check it out through the link in our profile.

Yellowstone Forever is proud to support various aspects of the Heritage & Research Center. With several million items, HRC has one of the largest collections in the National Park Service, housed within an archive, a library, and numerous museum collections.

The HRC is located just north of the Roosevelt Arch in Gardiner, MT. Find out more and how you can get involved at yellowstone.org/hrc.

Free public behind-the-scenes tours are offered on Wednesdays from 8:00-9:00 AM between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Follow the link above for more information.

Our Yellowstone Forever Institute offers education Our Yellowstone Forever Institute offers educational programs based out of the historic Lamar Buffalo Ranch throughout the summer and winter seasons. In order to get the ranch ready for use by instructors and participants, we have an incredible team of volunteers come out to deep clean and prep the facilities and cabins. đŸ’Ș

The work is done over a weekend by a group we affectionally call our Weekend Warriors. Yellowstone Forever staff and these volunteers put in some serious work and have some serious fun. We are so thankful to this crew, who, in many cases, come back year after year. 🙌

Campus and Program Volunteers are critical to Yellowstone Forever’s operations based out of the Lamar Buffalo Ranch and the Overlook Field Campus in Gardiner, MT.

➡ Learn how you can volunteer with YellowstoneForever through the link in our profile.

Our first Naturalist Day Hike of the season is com Our first Naturalist Day Hike of the season is coming up next Wednesday, 5/28 on the Beaver Ponds Loop Trail! This is the first of 18 Naturalist Day Hikes that will take place through to early October. đŸ„Ÿ

Hikes are led by a Yellowstone Forever naturalist who will provide a guided experience that will emphasize seasonal highlights. Hikes will be taken at a rather leisurely pace to ensure we optimize wildlife sightings and take the time to smell the flowers! Hikes included round-trip transportation from Gardiner, educational programing with a Yellowstone Forever Field Educator, and the use of high-powered binoculars.

Beaver Ponds is a moderate 5+ mile trail loop which leaves and ends at Mammoth Hot Springs.
