Plastic Free Yellowstone

Join the Movement: Help Make Yellowstone Plastic-Free

Welcome to Yellowstone — the world’s largest supervolcano and a landscape alive with erupting geysers, steaming pools, and roaming wildlife. Nearly five million visitors experience this wonder each year.

But there’s another eruption happening: plastic waste. Single-use plastics are piling up in landfills, polluting waterways, and threatening wildlife. That’s why Plastic Free Yellowstone is working with partners across the park and surrounding communities to make a change. Together, we’re expanding recycling access, installing free hydration stations, and introducing plastic-free alternatives.

You can help keep Yellowstone wild and plastic-free. Start by recycling and switching to a reusable water bottle during your visit. Join Plastic Free Yellowstone and support the collaborative effort to protect this iconic landscape.

This initiative is made possible through a generous grant from the National Park Foundation and in partnership with Xanterra and Delaware North. Together we can keep Yellowstone wild and plastic-free.
