Share Your Yellowstone Story

We love to see Yellowstone through the eyes of others. Whether you have visited once or dozens of times, we all have our unique Yellowstone experience. The one constant is the world’s first national park always provides memories to last a lifetime. Do you have a favorite Yellowstone memory or story you’d like to share?

For more than 20 years, my wife Lejean and I have been visiting Yellowstone, a place we grew to love deeply. In 2017, our connection to the park led us to move to Cody, where we built a life and business close by—making Yellowstone both our home and our escape. Since then, we’ve shared its beauty with countless friends and family. Preserving this incredible place matters to us, so future generations can feel the same awe and inspiration we do.

“Yellowstone is not just a place to visit, Yellowstone is about energy filling your body, is the place where you remind yourself that we are part of an ecosystem and not the leaders of it. This land gave me “a glimpse of the Earth’s soul” but the truth is that what I really found, is my soul.”

“Standing in a wild place like Yellowstone and watching wildlife is not an experience that can easily be duplicated elsewhere. In particular, the wolf-watching experience is unique to the park. It’s such a gift to be able to be here, so from my very early years of wolf-watching, I felt the need to give back to help preserve this experience for future generations.”

“Ten years ago, in 2015, I joined a working holiday program at Yellowstone’s Old Faithful General Store, where three unforgettable months left me deeply connected to the park. My coworkers and I promised to return a decade later, and now in 2025, I’m fulfilling that vow. Yellowstone has always been more than a workplace—it’s where I’ve felt closest to nature, a place that truly feels alive.”

“Yellowstone has always held a special place in my heart. My connection began in 1980 on my honeymoon, when my husband Daniel and I rode through the park on a motorcycle. We got caught in a snowstorm near the Continental Divide, pulled on $3.99 rain suits from the Old Faithful Inn gift shop, and laughed our way through what we still call our greatest adventure. Since then, I’ve returned many times, sharing Yellowstone’s beauty with my son and grandchildren. This park’s wild spirit inspires me, and I’m passionate about helping preserve it for generations to come.”

“In 2018, my husband and I drove across the country from Washington, D.C. to Yellowstone—a journey we’ll treasure forever. One unforgettable moment came near Old Faithful, when we happened to be standing by the Beehive Geyser just as it was about to erupt. We were so close that the spray drenched us, turning the experience into pure magic. Yellowstone is truly extraordinary, and we can’t wait to return and create even more memories.”

“If you value something and believe in it, you must stand up for it. It’s important to support Yellowstone because it is an irreplaceable global resource. We protect the things that we love, and we love the things that we know. If we don’t have places for those connections to happen, for that learning to happen, then all public lands and wild things will be at risk.”

“My favorite memories of Yellowstone are of how peaceful and open the territory still is. I feel as though I have traveled back in time to the 1800s and feel connected to all that have roamed on these lands before me. My grandfather has shown me, and my family, the beauty of the National Parks and I hope they continue to be preserved and protected for centuries to come so more generations can find beauty in our natural world.”

“In July 2023, my family and I joined my sister in Yellowstone’s Lamar Valley before dawn, hoping to see wolves. Through her spotting scope, we witnessed a grizzly, a black bear, and three wolves around a carcass—an unforgettable scene that felt like a National Geographic film. Strangers gathered with us, sharing stories and awe, and together we became a temporary family united by wonder. That morning revealed the true superpower of the Yellowstone: not just seeing wildlife, but bringing people together in shared amazement.”
