Research Associate
Location: Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
Full-time / Non-Exempt

The Research Associate plays a critical role in Yellowstone Forever’s operations, gathering, processing, and analyzing data samples and information. This position is located in Yellowstone National Park and would work with Yellowstone Center for Resources Senior Wildlife Biologist with the Yellowstone Wolf, Cougar, and Elk Projects. The purpose of the position is to help design, coordinate, and execute complete conventional projects using highly complex techniques and unusual skill, participate responsibly with the unit lead scientist in various phases of the research or biological resource research and management process, and/or administratively maintain a significant function or area of responsibility on an ongoing basis. These duties involve differing and unrelated processes and methods requiring extensive familiarity with the methods and practices of the science(s) or discipline(s) supported. At this level, assignments include administrative and/or technical assignments, projects and responsibilities which are distinguishable from those less experienced scientists or specialists employed to perform routine professional work or perform standardized professional assignments. Responsibilities of this position including training a team of Biological Technicians as well as preparing and delivering in-depth educational programs for public audiences. The ability to work independently and on teams is essential. Success in this position requires high degrees of attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Development Coordinator, Annual Giving and Communications, plays a vital role in supporting YF’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This position coordinates annual giving campaigns, manages communications with donors and prospects, and provides administrative and logistical support to the Director of Annual Giving, the Manager, Donor Stewardship and Communications and Manager, Philanthropy Operations. The Development Coordinator ensures the smooth execution of the annual giving program and helps foster positive donor relationships through effective communication and stewardship.

Park Store Associate
Location: Greater Yellowstone National Park Area as Assigned
Seasonal/Full-Time/Non-Exempt

The Park Store Associate has a critical role in the daily operation of Yellowstone Forever Park stores at visitor centers and contact stations throughout the Greater Yellowstone National Park Area. The associate represents “the face” of the organization by working on the front lines and often in partnership with naturalist rangers from the National Park Service. Associates assist and engage visitors with purchases of educational products, explain our supporter program and recruit new members, and help answer visitor questions about Yellowstone National Park. Success in this position requires outstanding visitor/customer service skills and a passion for Yellowstone National Park and its preservation and sharing that passion with others.

Volunteer

Lamar Campus and Program Volunteer
Location: Lamar Buffalo Ranch, Yellowstone National Park

The Lamar Campus and Program Volunteer support YF programs and the Lamar Buffalo Ranch campus. The Lamar Buffalo Ranch is an off-grid campus on the national historic registry. It is located in Lamar Valley in Yellowstone National Park. The campus is a co-used site used by the National Park Service and Yellowstone Forever. It provides a location for adult students and youth groups to stay in comfortable lodging during their stay while participating in YF and NPS programs. The Park also has employees housed on site and runs stock, law enforcement, EMS, research and maintenance activities from the site.

Overlook Campus and Program Volunteer
Location: Gardiner, MT

The Overlook Campus and Program Volunteer supports YF Programs and the Yellowstone Overlook field campus. The Yellowstone Overlook field campus is based in Gardiner and provides a location for adult students and youth groups to stay in comfortable lodging during their stay while participating in YF programs. Campus and Program Volunteers welcome participants and groups, orient them to Yellowstone Forever and the facility, maintain and clean campus facilities. Campus and Program Volunteers also provide linen service and basic maintenance services at the Yellowstone Overlook field campus. Weekly schedule depends upon Yellowstone Forever’s needs, the check-in and turnover needs on Campus, and program schedule.

Shuttle Driver Volunteer
Location: Bozeman, MT

The Shuttle Driver Volunteer plays a critical role in Yellowstone Forever’s operations, supporting program shuttles. This position welcomes students and chaperones, orients them to Yellowstone Forever, drives the 14-passenger mini-bus for shuttles between Bozeman and program and lodging locations in Yellowstone and the greater Yellowstone area. The ability to drive safely and responsibly is essential. Success in this position requires a welcoming demeanor, being a responsible and independent worker, and being able to assist with the needs of various participants.
