Happy #WorldMigratoryBirdDay! Yellowstone’s diverse landscape makes for an excellent place to view a wide variety of birds. Nearly 300 different species of birds have been documented in the park, a majority of which are migratory.

A sure sign of spring in Yellowstone is the return of harlequin ducks to LeHardy Rapids at the south end of Hayden Valley. Though they spend most of their lives on the Pacific Ocean, we are lucky enough to catch a fairly brief glimpse of them each May.
